Turned 32,000 miles on the Jensen Sunday, took it to two car shows, where noone knew what it was and I had to do quite a bit of explaining; “no it’s not made by the stereo people”, “no I’m not insane, it actually came with a 440 from the factory”, “yes, I am a little young to be driving this thing” and the like. Going to Caffeine and Carburetors in New Canaan this weekend along with my friends and their cars, so it should be a good time. The car is reliable so far, seeing as I’ve put more miles on it in one sunday than it’s done in 26 years, pretty remarkable for something old, and british that has electrically operated bits. Stay tuned for some higher-res non-potato pics this weekend

Friends’ cars below: The 1987 635CSI that made me want one so much that I bought one for myself, and a 1989 911 Carrera. Both are immaculate, and are immensely fun to drive.

DOESN’T IT! Probably one of the least likely color/wheel combo’s but it looks incredible.

I’ve been hankering for a Jensen lately. Gorgeous car! How did you find it?

The car is actually my Grandfather’s. He won’t let me keep it, because he thinks I’m going to crash it and die. However, I’ve been allowed by him to get it up and running, in order to sell it, which is what he wants. I’ve been fortunate enough to get out and drive the car on occasion since It’s been road worthy. It will wear a for-sale sign to all the car shows it visits from now until the season is over. If it does sell, I will be making sure that it is going to a good home, and with the money, I will start the next mechanical restoration of a family member’s car who has let it sit in a barn for 25 years (there are a few more, believe it or not) So, yeah, kind of sad that it has to go, but it is a car, and there exist others in this world. I intend on having another one with a hellcat motor swap when I’m older, since I figure enough people will have wrapped them around trees by that point that a motor will be attainable.
